The winery
From tradition to innovation...
Château Doms is a beautiful chartreuse dating back to the seventeenth century. Part of this former monastery was converted into a winery in the eighteenth century. This building still houses the winery and the barrel cellar for aging the wines. Its thick walls maintain in these rooms a temperature and a relative humidity that are almost constant. Furthermore, according to Hélène Durand, “working in a winery where several generations have made wines adds a lot of magic to the place”.
In 1995, a large expansion and modernization project was undertaken: a new vinification cellar and a bottle storage room were built. In order to preserve existing buildings, a new wing was added to the property. Today, the cellar of Château Doms is very modern and efficient. It has all the technological innovations (thermoregulated stainless steel vats, pneumatic press, etc, etc) necessary to develop quality wines.
