The estate
Passionate about vine and wine, the women of Château Doms have been wine growers from mother to daughter for five generations. Today, Hélène Durand and her daughter Amelie conduct their vineyard in accordance with long-standing tradition, making rather feminine wines.
The family home, a beautiful chartreuse which was once a monastery dating from the seventeenth century, is at the centre of the estate. The vineyards extend over 28 hectares around it, on a gravelly outcrop enjoying exceptional exposure for the cultivation of the vines.
Château Doms is located in the heart of the Graves region, south-east of Bordeaux. The sandy-gravelly soil of the vineyard, combined with the Bordeaux grape varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for red wines and Sauvignon and Semillon for white wines, characterize the precious earth of this prestigious Bordeaux appellation.
Graves wines, especially the ones from Château Doms, are very feminine wines: wines of both character and elegance.
